Personal Background

I am a lifelong Michigan resident and a University of Michigan-Ann Arbor graduate. While I pursued a career in business, I started off with a secondary school teaching certificate.

Life had different plans for me. I left public education in the early 1990s when Michigan public schools were in such financial distress that the state

I started to learn all I could about how Michigan funded public schools and the budget making process for my community. My interest was strong enough to compel me to run for the school board, on which I served from 2005 to 2013. I contributed to advancements in our financial and demographic analysis capabilities, many of which remain in use today.

My passion for these topics remain. I continue to write as a result and am expanding my service portfolio to deliver best in class Michigan school district analytic services.
