Research on Michigan Senate Bill 624

The information in the document embedded here was compiled to present to policy makers involved with the State of Michigan’s recent efforts to assess educational reform efforts, in this case specifically Senate Bill 624.

This is the bill that was intended to bring about Governor Rick Snyder’s vision for “borderless schools” in Michigan. As a practical matter, this bill would amend Section 105 and 105c of the State of Michigan’s School Aid Act that provides for districts to participate in Schools of Choice programs that allow students who are not legal residents of a district to attend districts other than their home district.
